Listen up, chum, if you barely speak to her, don't do it... If you do speak to her daily, then try and go for it, nothing too classy, keep it simple, wait for a good moment, whenever you are alone with her and don't push it if that moment doesn't comes, a simple "I've liked you for a while" may work, because well, it's simple and it conveys exactly what you feel...don't be cheesy.

Ok dude, here ya go...since it's prom you gotta do something creative and special. You just have to ask her to the dance that'll be enough to let her know you have a crush on her. Make something personal to her, ideally that she'll find cute and funny, make it a big deal, embarrass her a little and yourself. Big risks get big rewards and if she's worth it then don't hold back. Like don't go tooooo crazy but make it personal make it cute make it count. You got this. Make sure you have fun asking her because even if she says no then you'll still have had a good time doing it
